KSKa architects are proud to announce that 'Origami House' has won a prestigious 2020 Ealing Civic Society Award.
This unique one bedroom, open-plan family annexe is formed of an extraordinary cross laminated timber (CLT) folded plate Origami structure. The site backs onto a church and is located within a sensitive West London Conservation area, in the rear garden of a listed house. The sculptural Origami geometry was inspired by the retained irregular foundation footprint of a previous garden studio, which the new build replaces. The precision of CLT allowed for a fast build and the adoption of Passivhaus sustainability measures such as super insulation, triple glazing and MVHC.
